Readers,
Here's another teaching tip...
When I teach face-to-face courses, I take attendance every class session. This keeps the students accountable, provides me with an opportunity to learn the students's names, and also it provides me with a few minutes of mental debriefing time before class begins.
I use the Gradekeeper program on the classroom computer and this program's spreadsheet is automatically populated with the students' information (gathered from my external drive).
Sincerely,
J. Edwards

When I was in college, most of my professors were diligent in checking the class attendance. It's a way of teaching students to be responsible for their actions and decisions.
